ATS resume checker
Free ATS resume checker for your CV
Paste your CV or resume text for free checks aimed at ATS applications: standard section headings, contact details, dates, abbreviations and symbols that can break parsing. Optionally paste the job ad to see which of its main words your CV does not use.
An honest note first: applicant tracking systems differ and their rules are not public, so no tool can show your real ATS score. This checker looks for common, visible problems that matter when software reads your application.
The checks run in this page. Your text is not uploaded and is not saved when you close or reload the tab.
Results
What the checker looks at
- Contact details: an email address and a phone number.
- Standard section headings: summary, experience, education and skills - the headings parsing software expects.
- Dates: whether jobs and education carry readable years in one style.
- Numbers: whether results and scale can be understood.
- Abbreviations: all-capital short forms that should be written out once.
- Decorative symbols: characters that can break parsing.
- Length and very long blocks of text.
- Optional: which main words from your job ad do not appear in your CV.
How to use the results
- Treat each point as a prompt to look again, not as a score or a verdict.
- Fix real gaps first: contact details, standard headings and clear dates.
- Write abbreviations in full the first time; replace decorative symbols with simple bullets.
- If you pasted a job ad, add a missing word only where it truly describes your experience.
- Paste the final text again after editing and compare.
What an ATS check can and cannot tell you
A free text check can spot missing contact details, non-standard headings, unclear dates, unexplained abbreviations and symbols that break parsing. It cannot read your PDF layout, and it cannot show the score an employer's system gives you - those systems differ and their rules are not public. For a fuller review of a CV file, try the free CV score check. For a deeper word-by-word comparison with a job ad, use the job ad keyword matcher. FAQ
Is the ATS resume checker free?
Yes. Paste your text and run the checks without an account or payment. The comparison runs locally in your browser.
Will I see my real ATS score?
No tool can show that honestly. Each applicant tracking system reads and ranks applications differently, and their rules are not public. This checker looks for common, visible problems that matter when software reads your CV.
Can it check my PDF or Word file?
This page checks pasted text. For a review of the file itself, including layout signals, use the free CV score check.
What does the job ad comparison do?
It lists the main words from the ad and shows which ones appear in your CV and which do not. It is a reading aid, not a match score: add a word only where it truly describes your experience.
Which languages can it check?
The interface is in English, Arabic, French, Spanish and Portuguese, and it recognises common section headings and phrases in all five.
